Site expansion at ThermHex Waben GmbH
Visit from Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Economics and Agriculture Sven Schulze
On Wednesday, the expansion of the ThermHex Waben site in Halle (Saale) was officially opened by Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Economics and Agriculture, Sven Schulze. The Mayor of Halle (Saale) also came in person to express his appreciation to our Managing Director, Dr Jochen Pflug, for signalling ‘once again a clear commitment to the location’ with the relocation of the company’s main development department from Leuven in Belgium to Halle.
What has changed? ThermHex’s office space has been doubled and a new production facility has been relocated from Leuven in Belgium to Halle (Saale). With the expansion of production and development capacity, even higher-quality honeycomb cores and sandwich panels can now also be produced for the aerospace industry. ‘This will enable us to save weight, resources and costs in many other applications with our recyclable thermoplastic honeycomb cores and develop from an innovative technology leader to an international market leader from Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt with our honeycomb cores, sandwich materials and the lightweight plastic technology behind them,’ says Managing Director Jochen Pflug, describing his vision for the coming years.
