Designers, developers and other experts use the Advent season to exchange ideas at the 3rd “User Meeting on Lightweight Construction” in Würzburg’s Vogel Convention Center. More than 100 participants will discuss innovations, trends and practical examples on 4 and 5 December. This year’s lectures and workshops will focus primarily on the topics of production, shaping, joining technologies and composite materials.
ThermHex Managing Director Dr. -Ing. Jochen Pflug will also be present: He will present the project “Organosandwich Structures with Injected Functional Elements” on December 4, 2018, starting at 4.30 p.m. in Forum 4. For almost two years, ThermHex and the Fraunhofer IMWS have been developing a continuous production process for Organosandwich semi-finished products and their processing. These consist of the thermoplastic ThermHex honeycomb core and fibre-reinforced cover layers with thermoplastic matrix (organic sheets). The semi-finished product produced in this way is thus considerably more cost-effective than sandwich structures with conventional core materials (e.g. foamed or expanded honeycomb cores). You are cordially invited to attend the lecture!
