With the rapid expansion of e-commerce and urban delivery services, last-mile logistics are under increasing pressure to become more sustainable and efficient. A recent article in JEC Magazine, titled “Last-mile mobility calls for composites”, highlights the growing importance of thermoplastic composite materials in reshaping urban transport and ThermHex is proud to be part of this transformation.
With the kind financial support of the European Union, ThermHex Waben GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS are jointly researching resource-efficient processes for the production of durable, high-volume thermoplastic sandwich structures for use in highly loaded lightweight applications as part of the “EffiSand” project.
ThermHex Waben participated in this year’s CAMX, The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, held from September 8–11 in Orlando, Florida.
