The program of the 4th Composite Sandwich Conference, which we are holding with the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS from 5-6 May in Halle (Saale), Germany, has finally been released on the conference website www.composite-sandwich.com.
What awaits our attendees? On the first day the opening evening at the prestigious Nationale Akademie der Wissenschaften Leopoldina features an extraordinary double-keynote session:
Prof. Dr. Thomas Neumeyer (IVW) will give the opening keynote « From Foams and Folds – Manufacturing Routes for Polymer-Based Sandwich Structures: Perspectives and Trends across Materials, Processing and Applications », followed by Dr. Tobias Gerngross from Beyond Gravity, who will shift our gaze upward. His keynote, « From Changes and Challenges: Challenges for Sandwich Composites in the Changing Space Industry, » will address how the rapidly evolving space sector is redefining lightweight requirements.
The momentum continues on DAY at the IAMO conference hall. Expect a high-caliber lineup featuring industry giants, you won’t find anywhere else:
- AEROSPACE Excellence: Experts from Airbus Operations, Boeing, Diehl Aviation, and FACC AG will discuss the future challenges and potential of thermoplastic sandwich structures in aviation and cabin interiors.
- MATERIAL Innovation: Insights into sustainable materials and circular economy approaches will be shared by representatives from ThermHex Waben GmbH, Diab International, the Fraunhofer ICT, and the Università degli Studi di Genova.
- PRODUCTION & Technology: Leading-edge processing routes will be addressed by Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS, SABIC, and EJOT SE & Co. KG.
