Once again, hosts and organisers ThermHex Waben and Fraunhofer IMWS will focus on the topic of composite sandwich structures in detail, discussing innovations in materials, technology and applications, and working with brilliant minds from different countries on sustainable ideas and their efficient implementation.

Sandwich structures based on plastics and composite materials are sustainable, extremely lightweight and highly stable. They enable optimised ecological and economical lightweight construction methods for a wide range of applications. With considerable material savings, functional integration, and efficient processing, innovative lightweight sandwich construction methods make a significant contribution to increase resource efficiency and sustainability.

Innovations such as thermoplastic sandwich moulding technology – for which ThermHex Waben and Fraunhofer IMWS received the JEC Innovation Award in 2025 – are the result of creative collaboration between industry and research experts.
