Today’s challenges for the sustainable use of limited resources call on the strengths of composites experts to develop new, efficient solutions for various industrial sectors. More than ever, companies in the application areas are called upon to consistently implement innovative lightweight construction concepts. Composite sandwich construction not only enables significantly more efficient and lighter structures, but also uses significantly less material than monolithic construction methods. There is still great potential for the realization of sustainable and resource-saving applications and components.

The 3rd Composite Sandwich Conference in Halle (Saale), Germany, on April 24-25, 2024, will once again address these topics and bring together industry experts in a conspiratorial exchange to generate new ideas. In keeping with tradition, the conference will begin with an evening event at the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Ignaas Verpoest, Professor Emeritus of the Composite Materials Group at KU Leuven and himself member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Sciences and Arts of Belgium (KVAB), will give the keynote speech on “Innovations in composite sandwich structures: reflections on a personal journey”. Prior to this, all participants will have the opportunity to visit the production facilities of ThermHex Waben and the Fraunhofer Center for Polymer Synthesis and Processing PAZ.

The second day’s program will feature exciting presentations on material and technology innovations as well as industrial applications in the field of composite sandwich structures. Insights will be provided by Airbus Helicopters, Audi, Porsche, Solarge, Evonik Operations and Daimler Truck.

Attendees can take advantage of the early-bird discount until February 17 and pay only 299 euros for the full conference ticket. Attendees should also act quickly to secure seats for the evening event, as there are only a limited number of seats available.
