ThermHex as a member of the German “Lightweight Construction Association” (igeL) contributes two honeycomb core samples for the igeL teaching case. The igeL working group “Information and Further Education” introduced the case at the 4th Lightweight Symposium on March 30. The revised case contains 35 samples of modern lightweight materials; two of them are contributed by ThermHex Waben GmbH and they are the only samples included made out of polypropylene.
150 specimens of the sample case were distributed directly to vocational school teachers and other multipliers in teaching and training. This is where the case will be used primarily in order to promote the acceptance of the new materials for up-and-coming tradesmen and technicians. In addition, the application possibilities as well as the production processes will be communicated at the same time.
Jochen Pflug, CEO of ThermHex, accents the great importance of the project: “Our focus at ThermHex is strongly on innovation and research. Furthermore, the promotion of young talents is also very important to us. With the sample case, we help to make training and school content more practical and tangible. Teachers and students will benefit from this.”
For a small fee, the lightweight sample case can be ordered together with comprehensive lightweight construction information from the Lightweight Construction Association.
