“Setting milestones” is the motto of this year’s competition “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” of the Oskar-Patzelt-Foundation. 4970 companies across Germany, including 224 from Saxony-Anhalt, are nominated for the most coveted business award in Germany. The ThermHex Waben GmbH from Halle (Saale) was proposed for the award for the third time in a row and has to fill in the criteria catalog consisting of 5 competition criteria (overall development of the company, creation / protection of jobs and training positions, modernization and innovation, engagement in the region and service and customer proximity, marketing) until mid-April. The nomination level is followed by the jury level and then the award level. Twelve regional juries evaluate the criteria and choose three award winners and 5 finalists for each competition region. With the continuous production process of its honeycomb cores, ThermHex Waben GmbH has been setting milestones for almost 10 years now. The honeycomb cores are used in sandwich composites as a lightweight material in more and more applications and not only reduce costs and weight, but also the CO2 emissions. The next milestones this year are in the form of the continuous production of the Organosandwich and the honeycomb core made from recycled PET.
